The ADA Title II deadline: is your meeting portal compliant?
In April 2024 the US Department of Justice issued a final rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act requiring state and local government web content and mobile applications to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. An Interim Final Rule published in April 2026 extended the compliance dates.
Your deadline depends on the population you serve:
26 April 2027
Public entities serving 50,000 or more people
26 April 2028
Public entities serving fewer than 50,000 people, and special district governments
